Teaching, Fall 2008

Coming up in Spring 2009

Here is an archival repository of courses I have taught in recent years.

Research

My research interests are in the area of applied mathematics with particular emphasis on mathematical modeling, differential equations, mechanics and computing. My recent work deals with the following two topics:

Fluid dynamics
In a joint work with Ana Maria Soane we are developing theory and numerical software for a C1 finite element solver for the Navier-Stokes equations of fluid dynamics.
Details…
Homogenization and random media
In a joint work with Muruhan Rathinam and Alen Agheksanterian we are studying theoretical and numerical aspects of random media with fine microstructure.
Details…
Rigid body dynamics
In a joint work with colleagues in the Mechanical Engineering Department and the US Department of Agriculture, we are investigating the non-holonomic dynamics of rigid bodies rolling down on inclined tracks.
Details…

Miscellanea

Under Miscellanea I have put a hodgepodge of items and links which may or may not be of much significance or general interest. Browse to see if there is something useful there for you.
