Dr. Gobbert earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Arizona State University
in 1996 working on multi scale models for the modeling of gas flow in
chemical reactors. After one year as post-doctoral associate at the
Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) at the University
of Minnesota, he joined UMBC in Fall 1997. His current research interests
include scientific computing and industrial mathematics, with a particular
emphasis on using parallel and cluster computing to perform large scale
simulations in science and engineering.
